ed to Sergeant. Was in the thick of the battle at Chickamauga near Chattanooga. The 125th fought very hard at the Kennesaw battlefield near Atlanta. There is a marching drum that belonged to the 125th at the visitor's center at Kennesaw. He then traveled across Georgia to Savanah and at the end of the war he marched in the Grand Parade. Shortly after the war he moved his family to Linn County, Kansas. Thomas or as some folk called him "Uncle Tom" was a farmer near Prescott, and Mound City, Kansas.
